Matt Henrie Named ACC Pitcher Of The Week

GREENSBORO, NC – Clemson sophomore right-handed pitcher Matt Henrie was named the ACC Pitcher of the Week after pitching seven scoreless innings in a 10-2 win over N.C. State in Raleigh on Sunday.

Henrie gave up no runs on five hits while walking just two and striking out four of the 26 batters he faced. Henrie improved to 5-2 this season in eight starts and sports a 3.09 ERA, the second best among Clemson’s starters and third best in the ACC. He is holding opposing batters to a .226 batting average, which ranks fourth in the ACC. Henrie has pitched 55 1/3 innings with 44 strike outs. He has allowed just 27 earned runs on 47 hits. It was the second time this season that Henrie has been named ACC Pitcher of the Week. He garnered honors March 19 after allowing no runs on three hits in 6.0 innings in a 7-0 victory in the series finale against Maryland.

Florida State’s Ryan Barthelemy earned ACC Player of the Week honors after leading the Seminoles to a three-game sweep vs. Maryland. On the Week, he posted a .400 batting average on six hits in 15 at bats. He tallied eight RBIs, five runs scored and three home runs. Barthelemy recorded at least one hit in each game and recorded one stolen base as the Seminoles clinched the top seed in next week’s ACC Tournament at the Charlotte Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, SC.
