Tigers Travel to Miami for ACC Matchup

CLEMSON, S.C. – For the second time in six days, the Clemson volleyball team prepares to face Miami in ACC action. The two programs are set to play on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m., this time in Coral Gables, Fla. with the match available to be streamed on ACCNX.

Clemson enters the match with a 12-14 overall record and is 3-11 in ACC play. Graduate transfer Kaylee Martin leads the Tigers with 297 kills this season (3.26 K/S) and most recently surpassed the 2,000 collegiate-career point mark against Southern Miss on Wednesday night. Martin currently has 319.5 points this season and brought 1,694 with her when she transferred from Illinois State.

In addition to Martin, sophomore Camryn Hannah adds 227 kills in 2021, while junior Mckenna Slavik leads Clemson with 789 assists. On the defensive end, senior Ava Pritchard has set the tone at the net posting 74 blocks (14 solo, 60 assists), with junior Ani Clark tallying 66 blocks (15 solo, 51 assists). Combined, Pritchard and Clark account for 49 percent of Clemson’s blocks this season.

Clemson and Miami last clashed on Sunday, Nov. 7 inside Jervey Gym where Clemson fell in three sets. Clemson was led by an eight-kill performance from Hannah, while Pritchard tallied three blocks and Anna Renwick had 12 digs.

The Hurricanes will hit the court on Saturday for the first time this week bringing a 20-4 (11-3 ACC) record and a six-match winning streak with them. Miami leads the overall series between the two programs, 16-14, and the series in Coral Gables, 8-4. Last Sunday, Miami was led by Angela Grieve, who finished with 16.5 points (12 kills, four blocks). Aristea Tontai followed with 10.5 points (seven kills, six blocks), as Miami finished with a season-high 15 blocks.
