Longtime Clemson Swimming Coach Passes Away At Age 85

Longtime Clemson swimming coach Carl McHugh passed away on December 27 at the age of 85. McHugh, for whom Clemson’s Natatorium is named, served as the head coach of the men’s swimming program for 23 years from 1954-76. McHugh, a 1936 graduate of Clemson with a degree in Electrical Engineering, was a three-year letterman and co-captain of the Tiger tanksters during his senior year.

News
