CLEMSON, S.C. – The location and dates for the Clemson women’s basketball team’s tournament originally scheduled for Nov. 25 & 26 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, have been changed due to concerns over the risk of the Zika outbreak. The tournament will now be played at the Ocean Center Arena in Daytona Beach, Fla. on Nov. 24 & 25.
The Tigers’ opponents remain the same for the two tournament contests. Clemson faces Loyola Chicago on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 1:15 p.m. and Wright State on Friday, Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Ocean Center Arena.
“This is not an easy decision for us in light of our decades of relationships with our Puerto Rican partners,” said Sport Tours President Lee Frederick. “However, we understand it is what the universities want at this time. The strength of our relationships in Daytona Beach have allowed us to make the changes smoothly. We look forward to returning to San Juan in 2017 and beyond.”
