Leslie Hasselbach Named Diving Coach

Aug. 17, 2000

CLEMSON, S.C. – Leslie Hasselbach, head diving coach at the University of Toledo, has been named head diving coach at Clemson University, head swimming coach Bruce Marchionda announced today.

“We are extremely excited to have Leslie joining our staff. The work she has done at Toledo as a coach combined with her own athletic experience is only a small indicator of what she will be able to bring to the program,” Marchionda said.

Hasselbach has served as the head diving coach at the University of Toledo since 1998. She has overseen the rebuilding of the Rockets diving program, and has doubled the squad size in the last two years.

Prior to her stint at Toledo, Hasselbach served as the assistant diving coach in 1996 and 1997 for the University of Notre Dame summer camps. She was responsible for promoting the camp in Ohio, Illinois, and Wisconsin, and was the head camp counselor. Hasselbach also gave diving instruction to all age groups attending the camp.

Hasselbach earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education with an emphasis in Social Sciences from the University of Toledo in 1999.
