KANSAS CITY, MO. – Women Leaders in College Sports announced earlier today that Sable Lee was named the recipient of the 2020 Jostens Promising Professional Award. The Promising Professional Award recognizes a full-time athletics administrator who has made an exemplary impact in their current role. Lee currently serves as an Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development at Clemson overseeing career and personal development and has been a leading figure in the Tigers’ initiatives surrounding educating Clemson student-athletes and staff about social justice.
Lee earns the award after being nominated by her peers and selected by Women Leaders in College Sports for her professional excellence during 2019-2020.
“I am extremely grateful for this award and that I can represent Clemson,” said Lee. “This award is bigger than me. I want to thank Women Leaders in College Sports, Clemson, Texas Tech, and all of the people have given me an opportunity to serve our student-athletes for this award. I am thankful for God and my tribe of support and mentors.”
Lee is joined by Katy Keenan, a graduate assistant at Texas Tech, and Cori Pinkett, the Assistant Athletics Director for Character Formation at Baylor University, as Jostens award recipients. Prior to arriving at Clemson, Lee served as the Coordinator of Student-Athlete and Staff Development at Texas Tech and had the opportunity to work with Keenan on numerous projects.
“I had the honor of being next to Katy and helping mentor her while at Texas Tech. She’s one of the most hardworking and supportive individuals I have worked with.”
Before her time at Texas Tech, Lee earned her Master’s degree from the DeVos Sport Business Management program at the University of Central Florida. Pinkett played a pivotal role in preparing Lee for success within the program.
“Cori played an important role in me applying to the DeVos Sport Business Management,” said Lee. “I am very thankful for my relationship with her and how she has lifted me up as she has risen.”
The Jostens award recipients will be honored alongside the recipients of the Nike Administrator of the Year and Nike Lifetime Achievement awards during the Nike Celebration of Women social media campaign and during the Nike Celebration of Women feature during Women Leaders X.
