Lady Tigers Wrap Up Day One at Clemson Opener

Clemson, SC – Della Clark posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and personal best in the weight throw to highlight the Clemson women’s track & field efforts on Friday. Clark recorded an outstanding toss of 65’6″ in the finals of the 20-pound weight throw. She improved on her personal best, which was 62’0.5″ last season.

Ra’Sheena Parker both advanced to Saturday’s 60m finals after solid performances on Friday. Scott, a freshman from Orlando, FL, ran a time of 7.64, which was seventh-fastest overall. Parker, a sophomore transfer into the program, posted a time of 7.73. Both will be in separate finals Saturday.

Polly Hardy, a junior from Anderson, SC, advanced to Saturday’s finals in the 60m high hurdles with a time of 8.63 seconds. Nakeisha Wineglass, a freshman from Alexandria, VA, was the Lady Tigers’ top finisher in the long jump on Friday. She recorded a jump of 17’6.25″ and was 15th overall out of 37 competitors in the prelims.

Rochelle Kokayko was sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 55’0.75″, while Catheryne Porter finished ninth with a toss of 53’11.75″.

Clemson will return to action on Saturday, with the triple jump and pole vault beginning at 11:00 AM.
