Clemson Notes:

  • Tennessee Tech head coach Jim Davis served as the head coach at Clemson from 1987-2005, winning two ACC Championships (1996, 1999) and posting a 355-197 record over 18 seasons with the Tigers.
  • Clemson ranks third in the ACC in three-point field goal percentage defense (.266) and fifth in the league in field goal percentage defense (.359).
  • Sophomore Nelly Perry is averaging a team-best 14.2 points per game, 7.5 more points per game than she did last year as a freshman.
  • Danielle Edwards ranks sixth in the ACC in scoring amongst freshmen at 11.3 points per game.
  • Edwards scored a career-high 23 points vs. Oregon on November 24, the most points scored by a Clemson freshman in the Audra Smith era and highest scoring total by a Tiger so far this season.
  • Edwards is one of three ACC players to record three double-doubles this season and one of 16 to score 20+ in two or more games.
  • Victoria Cardaci hit a career-high five threes vs. Furman; she has made 20 three-pointers through nine games (2.2 per game, 9th in the ACC).

Opponent & Series Notes:

  • Sunday’s matchup marks the 11th meeting between Tennessee Tech and Clemson. The Tigers lead the series 6-4 and won the last meeting, 76-61 on Dec. 6, 2014 in Littlejohn Coliseum.
  • Tennessee Tech posted a 6-23 (3-13 OVC) record last season. The Golden Eagles are 3-5 so far this season, with wins over Georgia State, Lipscomb and UNC-Greensboro.
  • Senior Samaria Howard leads the Golden Eagles in scoring at 17.6 points per game.
