Lady Tigers Travel to Georgia Tech for Thursday Matchup

Feb. 16, 2011

Complete Game Notes

The Clemson women’s basketball team will travel to Atlanta for a Thursday game with Georgia Tech at 7:00 pm at Alexander Memorial Coliseum in Atlanta. Clemson has just three games before the ACC tournament, which begins on March 3rd.

Georgia Tech (19-8, 7-4 ACC) defeated Clemson (10-16, 3-8 ACC) earlier this season by a 64-54 margin in Littlejohn Coliseum in the Tigers’ ACC home opener. However, Clemson leads the all-time series with the Jackets, 42-23, including a 16-13 mark in Atlanta.

Clemson broke the school record for most three-point field goals in a season when they hit the 160th of the year against Virginia Tech. The Tigers now have 163, and will extend that mark with every make from here on out. Ranking second in the ACC in three-pointers made per game, the Lady Tigers are also third in three-point percentage.

Seniors Sthefany Thomas (12.2 ppg, 61 3FG) and Kirstyn Wright (12.5 ppg, 55 3FG) are the main reason why, as both rank among the ACC’s top seven in threes made per game. Thomas’ 2.34 per game would set a school record for a single season.

Junior Jasmine Tate had a season-best 16 points in the game.
