Lady Tigers to Take on North Carolina Sunday

The Clemson Lady Tiger basketball team will play eight-ranked North Carolina Sunday afternoon (February 16) at 5:30 p.m. at Carmichael Auditorium in Chapel Hill, NC. Clemson has a 12-10 record overall and a 4-7 mark in the ACC. North Carolina has a 22-2 record overall and an 11-1 ledger in league play. The Tar Heels are ranked eighth by the Associated Press and seventh in the USA Today poll.

The game will be televised nationally on the Fox Sports Network. Clemson is led in scoring by Chrissy Floyd with a 16.5 ppg. average. Freshman Amanda White leads the Lady Tigers in rebounding with a 6.8 rpg. mark. Floyd needs just two more points to move into second place on Clemson’s all-time scoring list. The Laurens, SC, product currently has 1794 career points, trailing Janet Knight (1795) and Barbara Kennedy (3113).

North Carolina is led in scoring by Coretta Brown with a 14.1 ppg. average. La’Tangela Atkinson leads the Tar Heels in rebounding with an 8.5 rpg. mark. This will be the 63rd meeting between Clemson and North Carolina on the basketball court. The Tar Heels lead the overall series 36-26. North Carolina defeated Clemson 77-55 on January 16, at Clemson in the previous meeting.
