Lady Tigers To Play Host To Duquesne On Wednesday

CLEMSON, SC – Sophomore point guard Christy Brown and the Clemson women’s basketball team will welcome Duquesne to Littlejohn Coliseum on Wednesday night. The Lady Tigers (1-1) and Dukes (1-0) are scheduled for a 7:00 pm tip-off in just the second meeting in history between the two teams.

Brown leads the Clemson squad with an 11.5 scoring average after putting up 14 against Western Carolina on Sunday, Nov. 11. She is shooting 47.8-percent from the field and averaging 3.5 rebounds per game. Classmate Lele Hardy has pulled down 22 rebounds in the Lady Tigers’ first two games for an 11.0 per game average. The Spartanburg, SC native has also tallied 11 steals and eight assists already this season.

Fans in the Clemson area can follow the action on the airwaves with Dan Scott and Barbara Kennedy-Dixon on WCCP-FM (104.9), while the game will also be video streamed on www.clemsontigers.com.

Scouting the Dukes The Dukes are coming off of a 69-52 victory over Morehead State in their first game under Head Coach Suzie McConnell-Serio. Sophomore Keri Pryor and junior Kristi Little each scored 19 points in the contest, while rookie Samantha Pollino led the team on the glass with nine rebounds.

Duquesne returns just seven letterwinners and three starters from the 2006-07 season. The Dukes dress just nine players this year as they await three transfers to become eligible for next season.

Clemson vs. Duquesne, The Series Wednesday’s game featuring the Clemson Lady Tigers and Duquesne Dukes will be just the second meeting between the two teams in history. Last season, Clemson defeated Duquesne, 77-74, in Pittsburgh, PA. Senior Lele Hardy had 16 points for the Lady Tigers.
