CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s basketball team has just three regular season games remaining in the 2011-12 season, including Sunday’s 2:00 pm showdown with Wake Forest(15-11, 5-8 ACC) in Littlejohn Coliseum. The Lady Tigers (6-18, 2-11 ACC) just finished off four road games in the past five overall, logging more than 4,000 air miles in the past two weeks.
The game will be available on TigerCast at ClemsonTigers.com and will be broadcast on the radio on WCCP 104.9 FM. Wake Forest scored a season-high 94 points in a 29-point victory over Clemson on Jan. 22 in Winston-Salem, in a series which Clemson leads 48-16 all-time and 25-7 at home. The Lady Tigers close the regular season after Sunday with senior day next Thursday against Florida State in a televised game, and then play next Sunday in Atlanta against Georgia Tech on a neutral court. Nikki Dixon enters the game leading Clemson offensively at 13.1 points per game, including 16.8 per game over the last six games. The three-time ACC Rookie of the Week is second among all ACC freshmen in scoring and third in the nation among freshmen at 2.5 steals per game. Chelsea Lindsay and Dixon have started all 24 games for the Lady Tigers this season, and Lindsay leads ACC freshmen in assists and minutes per game. Lindsey Mason continues to move up the blocked shots chart. She has 153 in her career, 2nd in school history, and her 62 this season are just seven away from the single-season top-five in school history. Sophomore Quinyotta Pettaway also had 24 points in the game against Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, and continues to push career high totals in nearly every category.
