The Clemson women’s track & field team will compete at the ACC Indoor Championships on Thursday through Sunday. The competition will be held at Clemson’s indoor facility for the second time, as the meet also took place at the Lady Tigers’ home in the 2004 season. The women’s pentathlon will take place Thursday, with all other events taking place Friday and Saturday.

Mid-year enrollees Linda Buchholz and Liane Weber will represent Clemson in the pentathlon Thursday. The first event, the 60m hurdles, is set for 1:00 PM. Both student-athletes have posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the pentathlon this season.

Friday’s action will feature preliminaries and semis for the running events and finals for the 5000m, distance medley relay, long jump, weight throw, and pole vault. Della Clark is among the favorites for the weight throw. The senior from Acworth, GA is #5 in the latest ‘Dandy Dozen’ listing by Trackwire. She has the top mark in the ACC this season and second-best mark in school history at 66’7″. Both Buchholz and Weber also figure to be strong in the long jump as well.

Ra’Sheena Parker and Thea Dix and Patrice McMillan will compete in the 800m.

On Saturday, the finals for all running events will take place. Also on the final day, the high jump will take place at 10:30 AM to get the day started. Clemson has four entries in that event, including Buchholz and Anastasia Wilson, both of whom rank among the top five in school history in the indoor event.

Patricia Mamona, a newcomer from Lisbon, Portugal, will compete in Saturday’s triple jump. She has one of the top marks in the ACC this season at 42’1.5″, which is an NCAA provisional qualifying effort. She will be joined by three other Lady Tigers in that event at 1:30 PM.

The 4x400m relay, the last event of the competition, is scheduled for 3:40 PM Saturday.
