The score was then knotted at 19 apiece and again at 21 all before Clemson posted the next nine points for a 30-21 lead. Susan Yenser hit a jumper and a three-pointer during the stretch.

Tennessee Tech narrowed the gap to five on baskets by Cavin and Lyons, but the Lady Tigers responded with back-to-back jumpers by Lloyd for a 34-26 advantage with 3:21 remaining. Clemson then took a 40-33 lead into the halftime break as freshman Alexis Auffray hit a three-point field goal, the first points of her career, with 22 seconds left.

Clemson’s lead hit 10 points at 47-37 just two minutes into the half as Lloyd hit a jumper to give her double figures for the seventh straight game. After the Golden Eagles cut the deficit to 47-43 at the 16:07 mark, the Lady Tigers extended their lead back to nine points at 56-47 on baskets by Davis.
