Lady Tigers Finish Second At Clemson Invitational

Clemson, SC- The Clemson women’s track and field team finished second at the Clemson Invitational this weekend with 154 points. Placing first was Georgia Tech with 194, third was Western Carolina with 123, Eastern Michigan was fourth, 76, Applachain State finished fifth with 79 and Florida State was sixth with 54.

Freshman Jamine Moton threw a personal best in the shot put and finished first with a mark of 47’10”. This also places her fourth in the school record books.

Senior Samantha Watt claimed first in the 400m run with a time of 56.11. Teammate Stephanie Hicks took fourth running a time of 59.22.

In the 3,000m run Shannon Schoppman grabbed first with a time of 10.31.6 (hand time).

The 4x400m relay team of Simone Brown, Lashonda Cutchin, Stephanie Hicks, and Watt ran a time of 3:55.04 for a first place finish. The Clemson “B” team ran 4:14.16 to finish sixth. On that team was Julie Stackhouse, Brantley Epps, Kim Horvath, and Emily Welsh.
