Lady Tigers Finish Second At 2004 Clemson Invitational Track And Field Meet

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s track and field team tallied 217.5 points behind four regional qualifiers to finish second at the 2004 Clemson Invitational held Saturday at the Rock Norman Track and Field Complex. The University of Pittsburgh won the meet with 273.5 points, and Appalachian State tallied 72 points for third place. Howard University took fourth place with 70.5 points, Arkansas State was fifth with 46.5 points and East Tennessee State rounded out the field with 24 points.

On the track for the Lady Tigers, Silja Ulfarsdottir led Clemson in the 100m dash with a fourth-place finish and time of 11.91. Silja Ulfarsdottir, Silja Ulfarsdottir, Randi Hinton and Shakirah Rutherford captured the event with another regional qualifying time of 3:41.89.

In the high jump, Silja Ulfarsdottir was fourth with a mark of 115’0″. Christina Moore was a scorer with a seventh-place finish and mark of 99’2″.

The Lady Tigers return to action on Saturday, Apr. 10 as Clemson travels to Athens, GA, for the Spec Towns Invitational.
