Lady Tigers Defeat Coastal Carolina, 84-65

CLEMSON, SC – Senior Lakeia Stokes scored 17 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in leading the Lady Tigers over Coastal Carolina, 84-65, in a women’s basketball game at Littlejohn Coliseum Monday night. With the win, Clemson improves to 10-1 on the season while Coastal Carolina falls to 4-5.

Stokes’ 17 points and 13 rebounds led the team in both categories and marked the third double-double of the season for the Covington, GA native. Sophomore Khaili Sanders added 12 points and five boards. Clemson played 13 players, and 11 of them scored.

Clemson shot 55.6% from the field and 80% from the free throw line, while Coastal Carolina shot 34.8% from the floor and 47.1% from the free throw line. Clemson won the battle of the boards, pulling down 47 rebounds to Coastal’s 29.

The Lady Tigers will travel to Charlottesville, VA and take on Virginia Friday, Jan. 2 at 7:00 PM. The team will then play North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC on Sunday, Jan. 4 at 2:00 PM. Clemson will return home on Jan. 8 as they play host to Florida State. Tip off for that game is slated for 7:00 PM.
