Lady Tiger Track & Field Concludes Clemson Opener

Clemson, SC – The women’s track & field team wrapped up the final day of competition Saturday at the Clemson Opener. The meet marked the official begin to the 2007-08 indoor track & field season. Polly Hardy’s win in the 60m hurdles highlighted the Lady Tigers’ efforts on day two.

Ra’Sheena Parker was seventh in the 60m final Saturday. She posted a time of 7.73. Kristine Scott (14th, 7.87) Krystal Barringer (16th, 7.89) also competed in the finals of the event. Polly Hardy won the 60m high hurdles final with a time of 8.46, just shy of a personal best. Barringer was third (8.55) overall.

Scott was 11th in the 200m dash with a time of 25.68. Sierra Hill also competed in the event, finishing 18th overall (26.03). Parker (26.11) was 21st in the 200m. Michaylin Golladay (1:00.38) was the team’s top finisher in the 400m with a 21st-place finish.

April Sinkler and Nakeisha Wineglass competed in the finals of the triple jump Saturday. Wineglass hit a mark of 40’4″, an indoor best for the sophomore from Alexandria, VA. She was runner-up in the event, while Sinkler (40’0″) was third place.

Anastasia Wilson won the high jump with a clearance of 5’4.25″. She achieved the mark on her first attempt. Katie Farnan was fifth (5’2.25″).

Caroline Kennedy placed third in the pole vault after a clearance of 11’11.75″. Emily Barlage competed but did not record a height. Allison Lake was ninth in the shot put in her first-ever collegiate action. She had a mark of 38’6.25″. Bethanie Wachna (38’5.5″) competed in the shot as well.

Clemson returns to action on January 11-12 in Lexington, KY for the Kentucky Invitational.
