Quotes from Clemson Lady Tiger Basketball Coach Jim Davis and Clemson Players, Erin Batth and Chrissy Floyd. A NCAA press conference was held at the Cintas Center on the Xavier Campus in Cincinnati, OH Thursday afternoon. Clemson will play Chattanooga Friday night at 6:00 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at the Cintas Center.
Clemson Head Coach Jim Davis: “Obviously we are excited and pleased to be in the NCAA Tournament this season. I am proud of our basketball team and their hard work this year.
“Chattanooga is a good basketball team. They are quick and are very athletic. Damita Bullock is a great player. They play uptempo and they are a very well-coached team. They are fundamentally-sound. They can break down a defense on the dribble drive.
“Chattanooga likes to shoot the three and at the start of the season, we were having trouble with our perimeter defense. We improved in this area as the season progressed, but we will have to be prepared tomorrow night and be ready with our perimeter defense. “I am concerned about their three-point shooting ability. We will definitely have to defend well. We will also have to rebound better, and that has been a problem all year.
Erin Batth, Clemson Center: “A key to tomorrow night’s game will be taking care of the basketball. We may have the height ability, but I think that whoever takes care of the basketball better will have the advantage. We will have to step up and play hard.”
Chrissy Floyd: “We need to get the ball to Erin. We need to continue to push the ball and try to get Erin as many touches as possible in the post.”
