Lady Tiger Freshman Barringer Wins 100m Hurdles at AAU National Meet

Incoming Clemson women’s track and field freshman Krystal Barringer won the 100m hurdles at the AAU National Junior Olympic Games held in New Orleans, LA. The Charlotte, NC native ran a 14.17 into a -1.8 wind, edging out Aleesha Barber who ran a 14.20. Barringer also had the top preliminary time in the young women group, a 14.33.

In other women’s track news, former Lady Tiger sprinter Cydonie Mothersill is set to compete in the 200m in the World Championships that begin Friday in Helsinki, Finland. Mothersill was a three-time All-American in 2001 and won the indoor 200m dash. The 200m heats are scheduled for Wednesday, August 10, with the semifinals on August 11 and final on August 12.
