Lady Tiger Basketball to Close Regular Season at Florida State Sunday

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s basketball team will close out the 2010-11 regular season at the Tucker Center in Tallahassee FL, as they take on No. 12/14 Florida State (22-6, 10-3 ACC). The game tips off at 2:00 pm on Sunday, and the Tigers (10-18, 3-10 ACC) will learn their seed and opponent for the ACC tournament later Sunday evening.

Livestats will be available at ClemsonTigers.com, and Seminoles.com will broadcast the game live. The Clemson Tiger Sports Network will broadcast the game live on the radio across the state.

Then-No. 16/22 Florida State defeated Clemson in Littlejohn earlier in the season, an 83-73 win. Clemson’s bench scored 50 points in that contest, led by Shaniqua Pauldo’s 21 and freshman Chancie Dunn’s career game of 18 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.

Clemson leads the all-time series with the Seminoles, 24-17, but the `Noles have won five in a row. Florida State will be the ninth nationally ranked opponent that Clemson has played this season.

Kirstyn Wright (12.1 ppg) and Sthefany Thomas (12.0 ppg) have carried a bulk of the scoring load for the Tigers this season, but junior center Lindsey Mason has hit double-figures in each of her last three games, and is shooting a team-leading .500 from the floor overall this season.

The Tigers have been one of the ACC’s toughest teams to defend behind the arc, as they have a school-record 168 threes made this year and are shooting .335, the fourth-best mark in the ACC. The 6.3 made 3-pointers per game are second in the conference.

Thomas (64 3FGM) and Wright (59 3FGM) both rank among the ACC’s top ten in three made per game, and Bryelle Smith (24-63) is the team’s leading shooter in terms of accuracy, hitting .387 from long range.
