Clemson women’s basketball held its annual Orange and Purple Scrimmage on Friday night in Littlejohn Coliseum. The Lady Tiger’s played in two 10 minute scrimmages; one against the scout team and one against each other.
Head Coach Itoro Coleman said, “I am fairly pleased with their performance today. We were able to execute our offense and worked out a lot of things we plugged into our offense just two days ago.”
In the Orange and Purple scrimmage the purple team outscored orange, 17-13 for the win. In all, nine players scoured in the game, distributing the points well.
Freshman forward Quinyotta Pettaway led the winning team in scoring with 4 points and 2 rebounds. The winning team had a total of 17 points and 9 rebounds, with contributions coming from Wright and Shelton with 3 points each and Dunn and Pauldo with 2 points each.
Senior guard Sthefany Thomas led all scores with 14 points and 1 rebound between both scrimmages with 12 points against the scout team and 2 points while playing for the orange team.
Clemson will open the 2010-11 season with a game with UNC Greensboro on Nov. 12 at 5:30 pm in Littlejohn.
