A little over a year ago, Kaylin Korte suffered a season-ending knee injury, but she didn't let it affect her presence as a leader of our team. After a lengthy and strenuous rehab, she's back and stronger than ever 💪

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson outside hitter Kaylin Korte was named a 2019 Second Team All-ACC recipient, the conference office announced Monday. The honor is Korte’s second All-ACC distinction of her career, having also earned second team honors in 2017. This year, Korte led Clemson in kills (3.58/set), which was also tied for fifth in the conference this season.
Korte, who missed last season due to an ACL tear, started in all 29 matches for the Tigers this year and finished the season with 379 kills, which is 30 more than her total from two years ago. The redshirt junior average 3.66 kills per set in conference matchups, which was good for fifth in the league. Korte posted a team-best eight double-doubles on the year; she currently has 13 for her career. Korte also set single-match career highs in kills (30), attacks (60), aces (5), digs (16) and total blocks (5) this season.

The Morris, Illinois native was named Clemson’s first ACC Player of the Week (Oct. 21) recipient since 2013 after registering a signature performance in the Tigers’ five-set win over Duke (Oct. 18), which was followed by a Clemson sweep over the Demon Deacons (Oct. 20). Against the Blue Devils, Korte tallied a career-high 30 kills and hit .418 on 55 swings. Her 30 kills tied for eighth all-time in a single match in Clemson history and made her one of just three players in the league to accrue at least 30 kills in a single match this year. That weekend, Korte averaged 5.38 kills per set and hit .429.

Against those pair of Big Ten foes, Korte averaged 4.33 kills per set and 3.83 digs set. She was also named Tournament MVP of Clemson’s Big Orange Bash (Aug. 30-31) after averaging 3.40 kills per set and hit .313 for the tournament.
