Julian Jones is currently the Graduate Assistant for Student-Athlete Development, where he is responsible with assisting in professional and career development, tiger leadership academy, community outreach and service, personal development and responsibility and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Along with those duties, he is overseeing the department’s diversity and inclusion initiatives as it relates to student-athlete development. Currently, Julian is pursuing a Master’s degree in Youth Development Leadership here at Clemson University.
Prior to joining the Clemson family, Julian attended Youngstown State University (YSU) where he obtained his degree in Physical Education with a minor in Social Work. While in college, Julian worked with the men’s basketball program serving as a manager for four years, as well as serving a year as the player development intern and academic counselor. Furthermore, while attending YSU Julian, was involved in a lot of leadership roles, which included serving as a presidential mentor, president of the student diversity council and co-founding the NAACP on campus.
Following graduation, Julian became an NCAA Postgraduate intern in the office of Inclusion. While at the NCAA, Julian helped identify ways to internally and externally promote and plan the execution of employee resource groups, heritage month celebrations, race and ethnicity, LGBTQ, international student-athletes, student-athletes with disabilities, and women initiatives/programs.
