Clemson University is offering an opportunity for one-three (1-3) graduate students considering a career in athletic communications, with a focus on being a sport contact, to serve as graduate assistants within its Athletic Department. The students will be mentored by the Associate Athletic Director for Communications and Associate Athletic Director for Creative Solutions.
Interested students should have a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, athletic administration, business administration, journalism or a related field; excellent communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills; willingness to work evening, weekend and holiday hours; demonstrated experience in the field of communications; strong computer skills.
Additional consideration will be given to students with experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (i.e. Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign); experience shooting and editing video; social media management skills; working knowledge of StatCrew statistical software; working knowledge of web-based content management systems; basic HTML coding skills.
Throughout this experience, the student will be provided opportunities to apply concepts and theories from the classroom to an intercollegiate athletic environment. Opportunities include:
Financial Aid: $26,000 ($9,000 fall semester, $9,000 spring semester, $8,000 summer school) in financial aid will be provided for tuition, fees and cost of attendance. Note: Applicant must be accepted to and attend graduate school.
