Jenna Burtch Named Second-Team Verizon Academic All-American

Clemson swimming and diving’s Jenna Burtch was named to the Women’s At-Large Verizon Academic All-America second-team for the 2002-03 season. Student-athletes from the sports of swimming, wrestling, golf and tennis are eligible for the team.

Burtch, a May 2003 graduate, maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA in Psychology during her four-year career as a Tiger. She was recently named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll for the fourth straight year. Burtch was a recipient of a 2003 Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship, which is given to selected student-athletes who have performed with distinction both in the classroom and in their respective sports, while demonstrating exemplary conduct in the community.

A native of Holland, MI, Burtch earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in 2002 for the 400 medley relay. She is a three-time ACC Champion as a member of the Tigers’ winning 200 medley and 200 and 400 free relay teams in 2002. Burtch was named to the All-ACC team in 2001 and 2002. She currently holds the second-fastest times in Clemson history in the 50 and 100 free and the fourth-fastest time in the 200 free. She is a member of the 200 and 400 free relay teams and the 200 and 400 medley relay teams that hold the fastest times in the Tiger record books.
