Director of Sports Medicine Danny Poole announced Tuesday that Jeffie Trammell has been hired as an assistant athletic trainer. Trammell will serve as an athletic trainer with the football team.
Trammell comes to Clemson after spending the past two years with the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As a seasonal assistant athletic trainer on both NFL staffs, he worked in conjunction with the full-time athletic training staff on rehabilitation and treatment programs, daily operations and the preparation of athletic training equipment.
Trammell previously served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Clemson from 2005-07. During his stint at Clemson, he worked with the volleyball and men’s soccer teams. He earned a master’s degree in food, nutrition, and culinary sciences with a minor in experimental statistics from Clemson in May 2007.
Trammell earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University in Kinesiology and Sports Medicine in May 2004. He served as an athletic training intern for one year following his undergraduate studies at Georgia Southern, working primarily with the football team and assisting with the men’s and women’s tennis and cheerleading squads.
Trammell is a nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC) and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
