SACRAMENTO, CA – Jamine Moton, a former women’s track and field standout for Clemson, finished sixth in the finals of the hammer throw at the US Olympic Trials on Thursday. Moton recorded a best throw of 212’9″ in the finals after throwing 214’1″ in the qualifying round.
During her collegiate career at Clemson, Moton won the 2002 NCAA Championship in the hammer throw, and was the 2002 NCAA Runner-up in the weight throw indoors. She also earned NCAA Runner-up honors in the shot put indoor and outdoor in 2001. A six-time NCAA All-American, Moton won 13 ACC Championships and was a 16-time All-ACC honoree. Most recently, she was the runner-up at the 2003 USATF Indoor Track and Field Championships. She finished seventh in the hammer throw at the 2003 USA Championships.
