Hello IPTAY Family,
What a special weekend we just concluded on our campus – one that was full of numerous activities and events. A few of the highlights included:
– The celebration and reunion of the 1984 Men’s Soccer National Championship, highlighted by the men’s 3-1 victory over Wake Forest;
– The induction of the 2014 Letterwinner’s Hall of Fame Class; and
– A great victory over North Carolina by our Tigers on the gridiron. Fall is a great time here at Clemson and we are looking forward to the coming weeks with great anticipation.
As you know, since 1934, the IPTAY Annual Fund has been the backbone of IPTAY and Clemson Athletics. To take funding for athletics into a new era, we have launched a fall membership campaign entitled “Our Future is Now”. With this campaign, we hope to attract new members and reengage former members. In addition, we would like to reward our current members who renew within the campaign time frame. To learn more about our fall campaign and to participate, click HERE.
It is important to consider the long term future of IPTAY as well. It is critical that we find ways to attract young people across all areas of the Clemson Tiger nation and have them join the IPTAY family. The IPTAY Young Alumni program and Collegiate Club are two vital programs that are crucial to that future growth. The Collegiate Club is off to another great start this year and it is encouraging to see so many students passionate about Clemson Tiger Athletics. The Young Alumni program continues to grow each year and we are excited to see what lies ahead for both of these programs.
Another growth initiative is the expanding of our marketing efforts. One of those efforts is our social media presence. Over the past year, we have seen consistent growth on both Twitter and Instagram. These are two platforms that further enable us to educate people on IPTAY and our mission as an organization. Another marketing effort is the IPTAY Tailgate Team which debuted this fall. The Tailgate Team has given us a greater presence on game days, and has allowed us to spread the IPTAY message to our friends in various parking areas across campus.
“IPTAY Day” will be celebrated this Saturday, October 4th at the North Carolina State football game. I would like to reinforce how important each one of our nearly 15,000 members is to the IPTAY family. Because of your generosity, Clemson student-athletes are able to succeed in the classroom and on the playing fields, and I want to thank you personally for your support.
