IPTAY is committed to the development of a large and diverse pool of candidates as District Directors to serve as at-large directors on the IPTAY Board of Directors and thereby represent a District of the IPTAY membership. IPTAY is issuing this call for nominations and seeking potential candidates from the recommendations of the members of the Clemson University family at large. In addition, IPTAY is concurrently seeking names from its members through written petition of the members of IPTAY grouped in their applicable District.
To serve as a District Director, the IPTAY Board of Directors and IPTAY Nominating Committee has established general guidance to promote the nomination of qualified candidates, a full copy of which may be found at clemsontigers.com/iptay. Committee guidelines may be found under the “Annual Fund” link and are listed under the “About” tab.
Candidates should demonstrate passion for Clemson University and its athletics programs, a high level of integrity, and a willingness to make the time commitments associated with the District Director position. To ensure the continuing diversity of the IPTAY Board, IPTAY is seeking candidates, who are representative of minority groups and reflect the diverse population of Clemson University students and alumni. IPTAY will also provide consideration to former student-athletes, who have been recipients of the IPTAY scholarship funds. It is not an express requirement that a candidate be a graduate or a former student of Clemson University; however every proposed candidate must be a member of IPTAY in good standing, and may not be younger than twenty-one years of age upon the day of the election.
In this nomination cycle, IPTAY has four board positions that will need to be filled from candidates who reside in the following geographic districts-
District 4 – South Carolina counties including: York, Lancaster, Chester, Chesterfield, Kershaw, Darlington, Fairfield, Lee & Marlboro.
District 7 – North Carolina
District 8 – Georgia
District 9 – Southeast, Northeast, Midwest and West Coast Regions. (All States excluding NC,SC & GA)
If you would like to nominate a potential candidate, the IPTAY Nominating Committee invites you to complete the Nomination Form which is located online at clemsontigers.com/iptay. The form is under the “Annual Fund” link and on the IPTAY Board of Directors Page listed under the “About” tab or to access the 2015 nomination application, click HERE.
Please submit the form to Mr. Don Golightly (Chair – IPTAY Nominating Committee) at this email address: jarmita@clemson.edu. The Nominating Committee will review all candidates proposed and, as appropriate, interview certain prospective nominees. In order for a candidate to be considered through this process, the Nominating Committee must receive your nomination form by April 10, 2015. If your nominee is not selected, IPTAY will retain, for a reasonable period of time, a copy of your nomination form for future consideration.
