CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s diving team will take to the pool for its first and only home dual meet of the season on Saturday, February 9 at McHugh Natatorium. The Tigers will host Davidson College at the meet, which is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
“It’s an exciting time for the Clemson diving program as we host our first ever women’s diving competition at McHugh Natatorium,” Head Coach Leslie Hasselbach Adams said. “Our ladies have been waiting all year to be able to perform in front of our home crowd. It is also an exciting time for our senior diver, Elizabeth Tatum, and our senior manager, Patrick Chamberlain, as they will be honored before the start of the meet. As we head into our ACC championship meet, this will be a great event for us to see what we need to fine tune.”
The meet was originally scheduled to be held on January 26, but poor road conditions due to inclement weather led to the postponement.
The Tigers are led by freshman Megan Helwagen and sophomore Chelsea Uranaka, who have both qualified for NCAA Zones in the one-meter and the three-meter. Junior Emily Howard has also qualified for NCAA Zones and is currently in the top ten in the ACC in the three-meter. Freshman Jessica Resler also currently sits in the top ten in the conference in the platform.
The meet will include the recognition of the aforementioned seniors prior to the beginning of competition. The one-meter and three-meter dives will both be contested, while the Tigers will have several individuals who will compete unopposed in the platform. There will also be an autograph session immediately following the conclusion of the meet where fans will have a chance to interact with the student-athletes and coaches.
Admission is free to the public. Parking will be permitted in any green or orange spaces on campus.
