CLEMSON, SC – Clemson diver Emily Howard will represent Clemson University at the 2013 NCAA National Career in Sports Forum. The event will be held in Indianapolis, IN from June 8-11. The goal of the four-day event is to educate several hundred student-athletes about pursuing careers in athletics when their playing days have passed.
“I am extremely excited for Emily to attend the National Career in Sports Forum,” Head Coach Leslie Hasselbach Adams said. “Through this tremendous opportunity, it will allow her to network and learn more about a career in sports. I am thrilled that her intentions for life after diving have led her to a career in athletics. I feel that this experience will enhance her passion for becoming an amazing sports psychologist.
“Ever since she has been selected to attend the forum, she has been looking forward to it. I cannot wait to hear all about her experience when she returns.”
One of the goals of the CSF is to dispel myths about careers in athletics, as well as to facilitate the opportunity to obtain industry trends and hot topics from current athletics professionals. Among the topics discussed will be personal values and behavioral styles, personal growth and development plans, and how to network with key decision makers.
Howard will be Clemson’s lone student-athlete representative at the event.
