GREENSBORO, N.C. – Clemson freshman outside/right side hitter Solei Thomas was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Thomas led the Tigers to an undefeated weekend in route to winning the Appalachian Invitational with wins over Mississippi State, Appalachian State and Davidson. The Detroit native garnered Tournament MVP honors after averaging 3.85 kills per set while hitting .387. Thomas also registered a team season-high 20 kills in the Tigers’ five-set over Appalachian State Saturday and did not hit below .351 in all three matches.
For the season, Thomas currently ranks 10th in the ACC in hitting percentage (.355).
Up next, the Tigers head to Kennesaw State (5-0, 0-0 ASUN) Tuesday, Sept. 4. Tuesday’s matchup against the Owls is set for 7 p.m., and will stream on ESPN+.
