Hewson Claims Rose Ladies Series Grand Final Title

Clemson, SC – Former Clemson standout Alice Hewson was named the winner of the Rose Ladies Series Grand Final after nearby wildfires forced play to be suspended on what would have been the final day of competition.

Hewson, who is playing her first year on the Ladies European Tour, was the clubhouse leader since the opening round and was on the hunt for another win after claiming her first event as a professional at the South Africa Open in March.

The former Tiger opened up play with a bogeyless four-under 67 to take the early clubhouse lead before adding a one-under mark in the second round.

The 22-year-old, Hertfordshire native was leading by a shot from Charley Hull in the final round when play was halted. Hewson was later declared the winner after officials announced that they would revert back to 36-hole scores.

The eight-week Rose Ladies Series was organized by former world number one Justin Rose and his wife Kate to offer competitive play for women professionals who have been at a shortage of tournaments due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
