Hester, Land Earn First-Team All-America Accolades

CLEMSON, S.C. – Tevin Hester and Mimi Land were named first-team indoor All-Americans on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Hester received the nod with a seventh-place finish in the men’s 60 meters, while Land earned the first-team accolade in the women’s high jump. Land added a second-team honor in the triple jump.

Hester is only the third Tiger to earn multiple first-team All-America honors in the 60 dash, joining Travis Padgett (2007, 2008) and Jacoby Ford (2007, 2009). He took seventh place in the event for a second straight season, clocking a 6.64 in the final on Saturday in Albuquerque, N.M.

Land is the first indoor All-American in Clemson history in the high jump. She cleared the bar at 6’0.5″ on her first attempt Saturday to tie for fifth place. The second-team honor was the second of her career, but her first in the triple jump.
