CLEMSON, SC – Rising sophomore Tevin Hester of the Clemson track & field program won a gold medal with Team USA over the weekend at the Pan American Junior Championships in Medellin, Colombia. He and fellow classmate Mimi Land represented the Tiger program by donning the red, white and blue at the biyearly event pitting the best athletes between the ages of 16 and 19 from North America and South America against one another.Hester ran lead leg for the victorious 4×100 relay on Sunday. The group posted a time of 39.17. Hester also qualified for the final of the 100 dash, running the top preliminary time of 10.25. But he faltered in the final to a time of 10.71, relegating the Oxford, NC native to eighth place. Land competed in the long jump and was sixth among the competitors. Her top jump was 19’3.5″ (5.88m).
