CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Women’s Tennis team (11-12, 2-10 ACC) fell to No. 12 NC State (19-7, 7-6 ACC) 6-1 on Sunday, April 14 at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.
The Tigers started their day by honoring all six seniors: Alexandra Anttila, Eleni Louka, Cristina Mayorova, Daniella Medvedeva, Jenna Thompson, and Alina Tsyurpalevych.

The Tigers battled hard against No. 12 NC State but fell on courts one and two. Thompson and Louka fell to the No. 10 ranked doubles team of Rajecki and Zampardo. On court two, Mayorova and Leigh Van Zyl fought hard against the No. 17 ranked duo of Zyryanova and Abrams but fell 7-5.
In singles, Sophia Hatton shined on the day against Gina Dittmann. Hatton took the first set 6-3. In the second, Dittmann fought back, claiming the set 6-4. Coming down to a super-tiebreak set, Hatton out-lasted Dittmann going 10-5 and claimed the only point for the Tigers. Courts one, three, and four fell to NC State.

Mayorova and Van Zyl took their respective matches to three sets. Mayorova battled hard against No. 69 Rencheli 4-6, 7-5, but ultimately fell short in the third set 1-0 (8). Van Zyl went 6-4, 6-7, 0-1 (9) against Abrams.
Next, The Tigers head to Cary, North Carolina, for the ACC Championship Tournament on Wednesday, April 17.
