Hasselbach Adams Named Judge for FINA Qualifying Event

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson women’s diving head coach Leslie Hasselbach Adams has been selected by USA Diving to be the USA judge at the FINA Youth Qlympic Games qualifying event in Guadalajara, Mexico. The two-day event will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

“I am excited to travel to my first International event as a FINA certified diving judge,” Adams said. “Being chosen to represent the USA at this event is truly an honor.  I am ready to critique some great diving at the Youth Olympic Games event.”

Participants at this weekend’s event will attempt to qualify for the Second Summer Youth Olympic Games, which will take place in Nanjing, China, from August 16-28, 2014.

In order to be eligible for selection to the 2014 Youth Olympic Games, the athletes must participate in the 2014 World Youth Olympic Games Qualifying Event in Guadalajara, Mexico. At the conclusion of the qualifying event, the athletes that finish in the top nine spots per event will obtain a qualification place for their respective National Olympic Committee.

Adams is in her second season as the head coach of Clemson’s women’s only diving program and her 14th season at Clemson overall. The Tigers finished the season 10-1-1 in dual meets this season, including a 7-0 mark at home.
