Harvey, Cribb Sweep ACC Weekly Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Clemson’s Kris Harvey was named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while teammate Josh Cribb earned ACC Pitcher of the Week accolades.

Harvey, a native of Catawba, N.C., went 9-for-16 (.563) with three home runs, six RBIs, eight runs scored and a 1.125 slugging percentage in four games this past week, all against teams ranked in the top 25. He was 1-for-4 with a run scored against No. 20 College of Charleston on Tuesday. In three games against No. 4 Miami, Harvey was 8-for-12 (.667) with three homers, six RBIs, seven runs scored and a 1.417 slugging percentage. The junior went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs in game one against the Hurricanes on Thursday, then followed that up with another 3-for-4 night on Friday, but this time he hit two homers and drove in three runs. In game three Saturday, he was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Cribb, a righthander from Lake View, S.C., earned the win against No. 4 Miami on Friday by pitching 7.0 innings with nine strikeouts against only one walk. The junior allowed two runs on seven hits, including six singles and one double. Clemson won 9-2, as he held down a team who came into the series hitting .331. On the season, Cribb is 6-4 with a 3.80 ERA and 78 strikeouts against only 21 walks in 85.1 innings pitched.
