CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Volleyball’s Camryn Hannah (Lansing, Ill.) and Cate Long (Clearwater, Fla.) have been named 2020 All-ACC Academic selections, the conference office announced on Thursday. Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the team.
Hannah, a freshman pin hitter majoring in Political Science, garnered Second Team All-ACC and All-Freshman honors after leading the Tigers and all ACC freshmen in kills (306) and kills per set (3.97). Hannah’s peak performance of the 2020 season was on March 7 at Syracuse when Hannah set the ACC’s single match record after totaling 37 kills while hitting .380. For her efforts, Hannah was named the ACC Player and Freshman of the Week on March 10. The Lansing, Illinois native also became the only player in school history under the rally-scoring format to record at least two 20-kill, 20-dig performances, having done so at North Florida (21 kills, 22 digs) and against North Carolina (27 kills, 21 digs). Hannah finished her freshman campaign with a team-best seven double-doubles.
Long, a freshman outside hitter majoring in Pre-Business, appeared in 22 matches and tied a team-high 86 sets played, and led Clemson in service aces (38) and service aces per set (0.44). She also led all Power 5-freshmen in service aces per set (0.52) during the Fall portion of the 2020 season. In her collegiate career debut, Long recorded one of her six double-doubles of the season in the Tigers’ highest ranked win in program history against then-No. 12 Miami (Oct. 8). In Clemson’s historic win over the Hurricanes, she posted 10 kills and 13 digs. Long topped that hitting performance three weeks later as she achieved her career high of 15 kills, while hitting .394, against Wake Forest (Oct. 30). Long was also named the ACC’s Freshman of the Week on Oct. 13.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
