Rookie of the Week In earning the ACC Rookie of the Week award for the fourth time this season, Clemson’s Cliff Hammonds averaged 11.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in victories over Maryland and Florida State. In Tuesday’s 97-93 win at Maryland, the 6-3, 175-pound freshman from Cairo, Ga., had 12 points and six rebounds in 32 minutes of play. In Sunday’s 83-74 victory over Florida State, Hammonds had 10 points and four assists in 31 minutes of play. This is the fourth time Hammonds has been named ACC Rookie of the week, a record for a Clemson player.

Player of the Week North Carolina point guard Raymond Felton averaged 15.5 points, 8.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds as the second-ranked Tar Heels posted ACC road wins at NC State and Maryland. The Latta, S.C., product led all scorers with 21 points and had seven assists and five rebounds in a 81-71 win at NC State Tuesday night. The 6-1, 198-pound junior turned in his fifth “double-double” of the year, and tenth for his career, with a 10-point and 10-assist effort in Sunday’s 85-83 win at Maryland. On the week, Felton had a 4.3-to-1 assists to turnover ratio.
