Kelly’s 3 Point Stance

  1. Protecting the Ball: Clemson is hanging tough against North Carolina’s defensive pressure, only turning the ball over six times to the Tar Heels.
  2. Terrific in Transition: North Carolina plays a guard-heavy lineup full of speed. However, the Tigers impressively held the Tar Heels to only two points in transition.
  3. Boxing Out: The Tigers held the Tar Heels to only seven offensive rebounds in the first half of action. The Tar Heels average almost 16 offensive rebounds a game.

Fun Fact of the First Half:Four newcomers, Tiffany Lewis, Francesca Tagliapietra, Cha’nelle Perry and Alexis Carter, have combined to score 18 out of Clemson’s 24 points at halftime.

Keys to Victory:

  1. The Tigers need to attack the paint more in the second half in order to get to the free throw line and to get the North Carolina post players into foul trouble.
  2. The Tar Heels knocked down six three pointers in the first half. The Tigers have to pressure shooters and focus on contesting every shot the Tar Heels attempt in the second half.
  3. Six different Tigers have scored in the first half. In order for the Tigers to get back into this contest, Clemson needs to continue its balanced offensive attack but also get more offensive production from Seniors Nikki Dixon and Chelsea Lindsay.
