CLEMSON, S.C – The Clemson Tigers womenâs basketball team aims to stay undefeated with a Monday matchup against the Presbyterian Blue Hose â a 2024 NCAA tournament participant.
Clemsonâs annual education day game will tip off at 11:00 a.m. and can be seen on ACCNX with Don Munson and legendary Clemson coach Jim Davis on the call. It can also be heard on 105.5 The Roar or the Clemson Tigers app with William Qualkinbush and Faxon Childress on the broadcast.
The Tigers are coming off a 91-33 win against NC Central this past Thursday. The victory was the programâs largest win since 1998. In the win, Clemson Head Coach Shawn Poppie earned the 50th win of his head coaching career.
In the first two games of the season, point guard Loyal McQueen has set new single-game career highs in points (22), rebounds (seven), and tied her career high for most assists in a game (seven). McQueen currently ranks T17 in the nation for most assists and is in the top 50 in most assists per game.
Mia Moore has been sensational in Clemsonâs two opening games this season. The Alpahretta, Ga. native is averaging 14 points per game and is the teamâs leading rebounder with an average of 8.5 rebounds per game.
As a team, the Tigers have been tremendous through the first two games of the year. Clemson currently ranks in the top 25 in the nation in field goal defense (26.6% – no. 20), rebound margin (+26.5 per game â no. 8), rebounds per game (53 â no. 11), scoring defense (38.5 points per game â no. 17), and scoring margin (+46 â no. 24).
Presbyterian is coming off a season in which it advanced to the NCAA tournament and won a tournament game. After beating Radford in the Big South tournament championship, the Blue Hose advanced to the NCAA tournament where they beat Sacred Heart in the first round.
The Blue Hose womenâs basketball team is led by Tiffany Sardin who was on Clemsonâs staff as an assistant from 2016-2018.
