GREENSBORO, N.C. â The Clemson Tigers womenâs basketball team (12-18, 5-13) starts the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament against the 13- seed Boston College Eagles (13-18, 5-13)
The game tips off in the Greensboro Coliseum on Wednesday, March 6 at 1:00 p.m. and can be seen on ACC Network. Pam Ward and Stephanie White will be on the call for ACC Network, William Qualkinbush and Faxon Childress can be heard locally on 105.5 The Roar and the Clemson Tigers app.
The Tigers are coach by sixth year head coach Amanda Butler who has a 3-3 all-time record against the Eagles, and a 5-0 all-time record in the first round of the ACC Tournament.
On the court, Clemson forward Amari Robinson leads the way for the Tigers. The two-time All-ACC selection is having the best season of her storied career and is averaging over 17 points and six rebounds per contest. She ranks third in Clemson history for most points and third in Tiger history for most career rebounds.
Dayshanette Harris, a fifth-year student-athlete who played four years at Pitt, is having the best season of her career. Harris has developed into one of the best distributors in the country this season. She leads the ACC and ranks third in the nation with an assist rate of 45%.
In ACC play, Harris is averaging 15.9 points per game and is second in the conference for most assists per game (5.8). She is averaging career highs of 13.8 points and 5.1 assists per game, while shooting a career-best 43% from the field. She enters Wednesdayâs contest with 1,499 career points.
The Tigers are enjoying a much-improved Ruby Whitehorn this season. Whitehorn, who was named to the 2022-23 ACC All-Freshman team, has improved her numbers across the board this season. In Clemsonâs final regular season game, Whitehorn notched her second career double-double with 18 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. In Clemsonâs lone game against Boston College this season, Whitehorn led the Tigers in points (19) and rebounds (8), en route to a 65-55 victory over the Eagles.
