CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers (8-4, 2-4 ACC) will play East Carolina (3-8) on Tuesday, April 2 at 5:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and live stats will be available here.
The Tigers are currently on a two game winning streak with their most recent 15-4 win over Virginia Tech on Saturday, March 30. Eight different Tigers put points on the board, with Ella Little and Nakeeya McCardell registering their first goals this season. The Clemson freshmen once again put on a show as Regan Byrne scored four goals, Natalie Shurtleff assisted three goals, Kayla Macleod scored twice and Jasmine Stanton scored once. Goalie Emily Lamparter played lights out, stopping all four of the Hokies’ free position shots and registering 11 total saves. Lamparter’s impressive performance earned her the No. 11 ranking nationally and No. 1 ranking in the ACC in saves percentage with 49.3%.Â
The Tigers rank in the top 10 nationally in clearing percentage, shots on goal per game, attendance, scoring offense and scoring margin. While the Hokies have been outscored this season 150 to 118, Clemson has outscored their opponents 194-116. Clemson has East Carolina beat in multiple statistical categories, including goals per game, ground balls per game, draw control percentage, shot percentage, save percentage and clear percentage.Â
The Pirates are coming off of two narrow losses, with a 12-14 loss to Duke on March 26 and a 11-12 loss most recently to Cincinnati on March 30. Leading East Carolina’s offense in total points this season is Frances Kimel, as she totals 46 with 21 goals and 25 assists. Meanwhile, Ellie Bromley and Regina Di Chiara are tied in total draw controls with 22 each.Â
