Four Volleyball Players Selected to AVCA All-District Team

CLEMSON, SC – Four Clemson volleyball players were named to the AVCA All-District III Team. The players are now eligible for All-America honors.

Jessi Betcher, a freshman setter from Boulder, CO, earned All-District honors and was chosen District Freshman of the Year. Betcher, the ACC Rookie-of-the-Year, led the team with 14.17 assists per game this season. She ranks eighth on the Clemson all-time list with 1,431 career assists.

Alison Coday, a senior outside hitter from Springfield, MO, received All-District honors for the third consecutive year after concluding the season with 515 kills, 310 digs and 67 blocks. Coday, a All-ACC first team selection, had 20 or more kills in seven matches. Against Indiana in the NCAA Tournament, Coday hit .381 with 28 kills. She concludes her career ranked fourth in the Clemson record book with 1678 kills and second with 4165 attempts.

Jodi Steffes, a sophomore right side hitter from Elwood, IL, was selected to the All-District team for the second consecutive season. An All-ACC second team selection, Steffes was named to the ACC All-Tournament team after hitting .346 with 13 kills in Clemson’s 3-0 win over Virginia in the semifinals of the tournament. Steffes concluded the season with 334 digs and a .308 attack percentage.

Cindy Stern, a senior middle blocker from Cincinnati, OH, earned All-District honors after leading Clemson with a .357 attack percentage. The ACC Player-of-the-Year, Stern was also a member of the All-ACC first team and the ACC All-Tournament team. This season she set the Clemson career block assist record at 448, plus she ranks second in career kills (1744), fourth in career block solos (163) and third in career attempts (3965).

Clemson concluded the season with a 31-3 overall record after winning the program’s first ACC regular season title.
