Four Former Tigers in Quail Hollow Field

Clemson, SC – Four former Clemson golfers will participate in this weekend’s PGA Tour event, the Quail Hollow Invitational in Charlotte, NC. The former Tigers are all former multiple year All-Americans D.J. Trahan, Jonathan Byrd, Lucas Glover and Charles Warren.

The Quail Hollow will be televised by The Golf Channel on Thursday and Friday and on CBS on Saturday and Sunday. The field includes 10 of the top 14 players in the world, including Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.

Trahan is currently the leader among former Tigers on the PGA Tour money list with a 42nd place standing after winning $726,775. He is first on tour on greens in regulation with 71.25 percent, and is fourth in par five performance at 62 under par, and is seventh in total birdies with 162. Trahan finished fourth at the 2008 US Open, the highest finish ever by a former Clemson golfer at a major.

Glover is close behind on the money list with a 45th place ranking after winning $682.513. The Clemson graduate is 14th on tour in scoring average, 10th in birdies per round and 11th in total birdies with 156.

Byrd, the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2002, is 98th on the PGA Tour money list so far this year with $317.156. He stands 11th in driving distance with a 298.1 average and is 15th in birdies per round.

Warren is 18th on tour in total driving and is 151st on the PGA Tour money list with $163,505 so far this year.
