Former Lady Tiger Thrower Places Seventh At USA Championships

CLEMSON,SC – Former Lady Tiger All-American Jamine Moton competed in the hammer throw at the USA Outdoor Championships contested Thursday night at Cobb Track and Angell Field at Stanford University. Moton placed seventh in the finals, with a best mark of 209’9″ recorded on her first throw of the evening. The 2002 NCAA Champion in the hammer throw competes for SpringCo Athletics and is coached by current Clemson assistant coach Glenn McAtee.

Former Lady Tiger All-American Shekera Weston is slated to compete in the 200m on Saturday, June 21, entering the meett with a season-best time of 23.07. She was a member of Clemson’s 4x400m National Championship team in 2001, and completed her career with two top-eight finishes in the 200m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, placing seventh in 1999 and fourth in 2001. She ranks fourth on the Lady Tigers’ career list in the 200m with a time of 23.09, and also places fourth in the 400m (52.81). Weston is a member of the Clemson record-holding 4x100m, 4x200m and 4x400m relay teams. The 2001 NCAA Championship 1600m relay team set a Clemson record of 3:29.97 en route to the national crown, and the Lady Tigers’ 400m relay team placed fourth at the NCAA Championships with a time of 39.62 set in the qualifying round.
