Former Clemson Great Nathan Thompson Wins Pro Tournament in Lynchburg, VA

LYNCHBURG, VA – Former Clemson Men¹s Tennis Star, Nathan Thompson won the 49th Annual CVITT Prize Money Tournament in Lynchburg, VA this past weekend.

On his way to the title Thompson had notable wins over:

  • Drew Courtney: Current starter on the top-five ranked Virginia Cavaliers Team
  • Brad Pomeroy: UNC standout and All-American. Pomeroy has a career high ATP doubles ranking of 435.
  • Justin O’Neal: Former Florida Gator All-American, and currently ranked 680th in ATP singles.
  • Treat Huey: Former Virginia Cavalier All-American, and currently ranked 333rd in ATP doubles.

Thompson is currently ranked 446 in ATP singles, and has a career-high ranking of 265 in doubles and 351 in singles.

Thompson played at Clemson in 2002-05. He was a 2004 All-American in doubles and was the 2005 ACC Player-of-the-Year. He was named first-team All-ACC in 2004 and 2005.
