KNOXVILLE, TN – Five of Clemson’s finest divers will travel to Tennessee for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships next week. The three-day event will begin on Monday, March 11 and conclude on Wednesday, March 13.
“I am excited to travel with five young ladies to our NCAA Zone Diving Championship meet,” Head Coach Leslie Hasselbach Adams said. “We have a wide array of experience going to the meet. One senior, one junior, one sophomore, and two freshmen round out our zone qualifiers.
“Elizabeth Tatum is our lone senior this year. She is on target to have an excellent performance at the championship. With her previous experience at the meet, paired with her determination to finish her diving career at the top of her game, I am looking forward to watching a great performance from her. At this meet, it is anyone’s game. All of our ladies are poised and ready to compete.”
In addition to Tatum, the Tigers will be represented at the meet by three other divers who qualified in two different events. Junior Emily Howard, sophomore Chelsea Uranaka, and freshman Megan Helwagen will compete alongside Clemson’s lone senior in both the one-meter and the three-meter events. Freshman Juliana Melchionda will join her teammates as a qualifier in the three-meter.
The top ten scores in each event will advance to the finals. The three-meter will be contested on Monday, while the one-meter will be contested on Tuesday, and the platform will conclude the competition on Wednesday.
